Rob Gronkowski is on location for FOX NFL Sunday this week.
The legendary NFL tight end, who won Super Bowls with both the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been working for Fox Sports in retirement. Gronkowski is typically part of FOX’s pregame and halftime shows in studio. However, this week, he’s out on assignment, covering the Bills vs. Chargers game, live in Buffalo.
But NFL fans have been growing tired of Gronkowski’s act on TV.
NFL fans seem to think that while Gronkowski is lovable, he’s not really fit for TV. Many have criticized his analysis and performance on the air, including on Sunday, when he’s out on location.
“Gronk is the greatest tight end in the history of football, but there is no reason for him to be on FOX NFL Sunday,” one critic shared on X.
Last week, Gronkowski faced criticism for his performance on the air, as well, during an awkward moment with Terry Bradshaw.
“Easy to make fun of Bradshaw here. But Gronk absolutely stinks. ‘Quietly, one of the most decent QB’s?’ Is that a good thing? From wearing sun glasses on WWE Tv so that he can read cue cards, to this. He stinks,” Jonathan Zaslow shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.
NFL on FOX sticking with Gronk, though
NFL on FOX appears to be sticking with Gronkowski, despite the criticism, which is even coming from Buffalo Bills fans on Sunday.
“When he publicly apologizes to Tre White. Then maybe we will tolerate him,” one fan wrote.
“No no they don’t. Nothing about you is buffalo,” one fan added.
“I’m not sure they all are going to boo him on your broadcast, bro,” one fan added.
What do you make of Gronkowski’s performance on the air for Fox Sports this weekend and in previous weeks?
