Joe Buck will remain the voice of “Monday Night Football” for the foreseeable future.
ESPN made a huge splash in 2022, hiring Buck as its play-by-play commentator for “Monday Night Football.” His contract, which includes a $15 million salary, was set to expire in 2027. However, the network has already worked out a deal with the legendary broadcaster.
According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN is giving Buck a six-year extension worth around $108 million. This deal will allow him to call another Super Bowl for ESPN in 2031.
While some fans believe Buck is overpaid, the majority of the NFL world is glad that he’s sticking with ESPN.

“In the world of sports broadcast, this dude absolutely deserves it,” one fan said. “Good for Joe Buck.”
“Get your money but why is a single commentator getting paid this amount of money man,” a second fan replied.
“Well deserved for one of the goats,” a third fan commented.
“Wow, $100 million dollars to call games is wild,” another fan wrote.
What about Troy Aikman?
Interestingly enough, Aikman has not yet reached an agreement with ESPN. His five-year, $90 million contract with the Worldwide Leader In Sports will end after the Super Bowl in February.
We’d have to imagine ESPN will do everything in its power to retain Aikman, who has been calling games with Buck for the past 25 seasons.
That being said, Aikman has flirted with the idea of him running an NFL team. If an opportunity presents itself, he might consider walking away from the broadcast booth.
