NFL Fans Reach Consensus On Commanders' New Uniforms

With the NFL Draft just eight days away, the Washington Commanders have unveiled their new uniforms for the 2026 season.

The Commanders confirmed Wednesday that they're bringing back their traditional color scheme. They also introduced an alternate uniform that's been nicknamed the "Hail Raiser." This look features a black helmet with a spear knifing through the team's logo.

"The spear is just such a great device," Washington team president Mark Clouse said. "That was part of the heritage of the team and also can live in this ecosystem that we've been building around defining a Commander."

Several photos and videos of the Commanders' new uniforms have been shared on social media this Wednesday. For the most part, NFL fans really like what Washington's creative team came up with.

"One million percent better," PFT Commenter wrote.

"The black jersey goes crazy," a Commanders fan said.

"Home and Away was expected," a second fan commented. "That Black will be had in various numbers though. Tough."

"Thank you Josh Harris for getting it right! The new uniforms are fire and the helmet honors the past while boldly ushering in a new era for the Burgundy & Gold," another fan declared.

The Commanders' new uniforms should look even better once they have their new stadium.

It's already been confirmed that Washington will have a new venue in 2030 that'll resemble RFK Stadium. As of now, the blueprint shows a 70,000-seat domed stadium that offers a look at the U.S. Capitol and Washington Monument.

This stadium for the Commanders will cost nearly $4 billion to make. The hope is it'll be such a huge hit that Super Bowls are played there.

Time will tell if this new era for the Commanders ends up being a memorable one.
