The NFL formally concluded its investigation into a domestic violence allegation against Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the NFL found that Rice did not engage in any conduct that violated the league's personal conduct policy. As a result, there will be no discipline against Rice and the investigation is now closed.
"NFL concluded today that Chiefs WR Rashee Rice 'has not engaged in conduct that violates the personal conduct policy' and the investigation into accusations from his former girlfriend is now closed; there will be no discipline at this time," Schefter wrote.
In a statement, Rice's attorney Sean Lindsey thanked the NFL for being thorough and declared that Rice is looking forward to starting the next season.
“Mr. Rice wants to thank the NFL for their thorough investigation, and looks forward to the start of the 2026-27 NFL season.”
“There was insufficient evidence to support a finding that he violated the personal conduct policy," NFL communications officer Brian McCarthy told Schefter.
As you might expect, social media was quickly flooded with angry responses admonishing the league for not coming down hard on Rice:
"Another 'thorough investigation' that ends with zero discipline? Serious domestic violence allegations from the mother of his kids, and the NFL just shrugs it off. Personal conduct policy feels like a joke when star players are involved. Disappointing," one user declared.
"If Rashee Rice wasn’t on the Chiefs he’d be serving a 10+ game suspension," another declared.
"Friday news dump lol," a third wrote. "The NFL is so spineless."

Championships & Controversy
Rashee Rice emerged as a key offensive weapon for the Kansas City Chiefs after being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of SMU. As a rookie, Rice quickly developed chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, becoming one of the team’s most reliable targets down the stretch. He played a significant role in Kansas City’s playoff run and contributed in Super Bowl LVIII, helping the Chiefs secure another championship. Known for his strength after the catch and ability to find space in zone coverage, Rice was viewed as a foundational piece of the team’s evolving receiving corps.
However, Rice’s early career has also been marked by off-field controversy. In 2024, he faced legal scrutiny stemming from a high-profile multi-vehicle crash in the Dallas area, which led to criminal charges and the now-closed NFL investigation.
