Cris Collinsworth is getting ripped apart on social media for an “embarrassing” mistake on Sunday Night Football this week.
The Broncos topped the Rams, 30-26, on Sunday evening. Los Angeles fell to 1-2 on the season with the loss, while Denver improved to 2-1 on the year with the win. It was a tough game for Rams star quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Stafford threw his 33rd career pick-six, the most in NFL history, on Sunday evening.
“We’ve got to be more efficient with some of the stuff we’re doing throwing the football. Obviously, I’ve got to be better, and I will be,” Stafford said.
Stafford threw two fourth quarter interceptions, including a pick-six to Denver’s Talanoa Hufanga. It was Stafford’s 33rd career pick-six, the most in NFL history, as he passed Brett Favre on the all-time standings.
“Obviously don’t want to have a pick-six,” Stafford said. “Hufanga makes a good play, I couldn’t get him on the ground and that’s points to them there.”

After Stafford’s record-setting pick-six, Collinsworth, who was calling the game for NBC, made an “embarrassing” mistake.
“No one has thrown more pick sixes than Matthew Stafford in his career. That’s his 33rd,” Mike Tirico said.
Collinsworth responded: “You don’t see Matthew Stafford make mistakes like this very often.”
NFL fans taunting Collinsworth over his mistake
“I literally thought I was going crazy when i heard this during the broadcast,” one fan remarked.
“I think it’s okay to move on from Chris Collinsworth,” one fan added.
“Collinsworth is the worst announcer!!!” one fan added.
“Glad I’m not the only one who caught that…” one fan added.
Stafford, meanwhile, is still confident in the Rams.
“Our guys fought,” Stafford said. “So many guys played through a bunch of stuff tonight, not feeling their best, and I appreciate the hell out of that.”
