While the spotlight is technically on the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks for Super Bowl LX, there are plenty of people exclusively tuning in for the commercials.
Uber Eats got the part started with an advertisement featuring actors Bradley Cooper and Matthew McConaughey. There was also a Guy Fieri commercial that was shown on NBC during the first half of the game.
Dunkin's commercial in the second quarter caused quite the stir online. That's because it included Ben Affleck, Jason Alexander, Matt LeBlanc, Alfonso Ribeiro and a few other stars in a "Good Will Hunting" spoof.
Fans frustrated with AI ads.
"These Super Bowl commercials have been genuinely awful AI slop…like truly atrocious," one fan commented.
"These AI commercials are awful," a second fan said. "Robots can’t replace creativity."
"The majority of the commercials are awful. I feel like I am watching back to back public service announcements. So boring and depressing. Way too much AI too," a third fan wrote on social media.
"Can we bring back like real commercials or real advertising people or smart people who do marketing??? This is awful," another fan declared.
So far, the top commercial may have been Bud Light's ad with Peyton Manning, Post Malone and Shane Gillis. It was pretty much a nod to the Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake.
Hopefully, the Bud Light commercial that was shown at halftime is a sign of things to come for the second half.
