Three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams returned to MetLife Stadium this Saturday to kick off his 2026 preseason. Unfortunately, he had to leave the field on a medical cart.
Adams, the No. 6 overall pick from the 2017 NFL Draft, had a great run with the New York Jets before being traded to the Seattle Seahawks. He then spent time with the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders before signing with the Minnesota Vikings this summer.
Minnesota was hopeful that Adams would bring physicality and experience to its secondary this fall. However, the veteran safety suffered what appeared to be a serious lower-body injury.
"The whole Vikings defense — including DC Brian Flores — spending a lot of time with Jamal Adams. You could see and observe how much they took to him in a pretty quick period over the last few weeks," Alec Lewis of The Athletic said. "Now Kevin O'Connell is over with Jamal Adams, hand on his head, patting him on the back. Just brutal, man."
The 2026 season might already be over for Jamal Adams.
Although there's only one angle of Adams' injury, it seems like his lower half gives out as he's running upfield. It's possible he suffered a torn ligament, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
"Welp Jamal Adams is probably done for the season," one fan said.
"Dude cannot catch a break even for one game," a second fan wrote.
"So unfortunate to see for Jamal Adams," a third fan commented. "His season is likely over."
Hopefully, the Vikings receive good news regarding Adams' injury. That being said, it's tough to be optimistic right now given the scene that went down at MetLife Stadium.
