NFL fans took issue with Nikki Glaser’s pregame Kansas City Chiefs segment on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 2.
Glaser, a comedian and Taylor Swift fan, narrated a pregame segment on Sunday evening, before Kansas City’s overtime win over Indianapolis.
“People love a winner — until they win too much,” Glaser said. “People want dynasties to die and for chaps to become chumps.”
“And when that downfall finally comes, it hurts like a Tush Push you weren’t expecting.”
Glaser added that she’s happy to see Taylor Swift as a married woman.
“And it’s safe to say the world’s greatest singer-songwriter is now a permanent fixture at Arrowhead [Stadium],” Glaser added. “And I speak for all Swifties when I say, we want more cutaways.”
NFL fans, though, had a problem with the segment.
Why are the Chiefs getting special treatment from NBC? There were two teams playing on Sunday night, after all.
NFL fans take issue with Nikki Glaser’s commentary
NFL fans are taking issue.
“Why do the Chiefs get a free publicity commercial from NBC SNF in that Nikki Glaser piece. There are 2 teams in this game and the Colts didn’t get one. There was absolutely no reason for it – what a joke,” one fan wrote.
“Let’s see if home team every Sunday night gets one,….. IF NOT, then it proves the NFL bias we accuse them of,” one fan added.
“The number of fans who want this is extremely marginal compared to the fans who don’t. You aren’t bringing more fans in, you’re just (angering) off actual fans,” one fan added.
“I’m glad everyone is calling out nbc for this bs, this is a national broadcast you can’t just act like the other team doesn’t exist even though we all know your cheering for the chiefs just shameless and disgusting,” one fan added.
“As a lifelong female NFL fan who likes Taylor’s music, this was the most cringe glazing nonsense almost ad for the Chiefs. No mention of the Colts at all? They have a female owner. Where’s a video about that? Or any mention of the other team playing? I have nothing against the Chiefs but in over this narrative being pushed. Female NFL fans like a variety of teams, and don’t need to be pandered to like this at the expense of all other fans,” one fan added.
What did you make of her commentary on Sunday evening? Did NBC cross the line with bias?
