We're exactly 30 days away from the start of the 2026 NFL season and the first-ever NFL game in Australia. For that historic game, the NFL has landed one of the biggest music groups in the world.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Jonas Brothers will be the headline halftime performers at Melbourne Cricket Ground on September 11 when the San Francisco 49ers take on the Los Angeles Rams.
"The Jonas Brothers will headline the halftime show during the Melbourne, Australia game between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams on Friday, Sept. 11 at 10:35 a.m. AEST and Thursday night Sept. 10 at 8:35 ET," Schefter reported.
The Crowd Goes Mild
The Jonas Brothers have been among the most popular music groups in the world for the better part of two decades and enjoyed so much success that not even a six-year split could stop them from returning to the top after they reunited in 2019.
But there's not a ton of overlap between NFL fans and Jonas Brothers fans. As a result, most of the responses to this news have been from NFL fans angrily declaring that they don't want to see them and might not even try to go now. Others took issue with the NFL not trying to get an Australian music artist to perform.
"I paid 2.5k per ticket and am now considering not going," one user on X declared.
"Just who every die hard football fan was wanting to see. I’m guessing NSYNC wasn’t available," another said sarcastically.
"The NFL is really missing out on Australian born musician, Xavier Rudd. Much, much better than the Jonas Bros," wrote a third.

The 2026 NFL season will see the league's International Series reach its eighth foreign country. Australia will be the seventh and October's Steelers-Saints game will be the eighth.
The Melbourne Cricket Ground is one of the largest capacity stadiums in the world, holding over 100,000 at peak capacity.
Not only will it potentially be one of the biggest NFL audiences ever, it will probably be the largest Jonas Brothers audience ever.
