Ross Tucker will work a more prominent role for CBS Sports during the upcoming NFL season.
According to The Athletic's Andrew Marchand, Tucker will move to the network's No. 2 broadcasting team this season. The former offensive lineman will be the color commentator alongside play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle on CBS.
Tucker replaces J.J. Watt, who moves to the No. 1 team alongside Jim Nantz after CBS placed Tony Romo on leave after a DUI arrest. It's a noteworthy promotion for Tucker, who's previously worked NFL games with Tom McCarthy and covered college football contests on CBS Sports Network.
Additionally, Tucker voices Thursday Night Football games on the radio for Westwood One, calls preseason Philadelphia Eagles games locally, and hosts his podcast on the DraftKings Network. He'll now analyze some of the NFL's most notable games in the CBS booth.

Tucker received an outpouring of congratulations on social media as news spread of his promotion. Fans and peers are excited to see the 47-year-old in his new role this fall.
