After days of rumors, EA Sports confirmed that Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will be the cover athlete for "Madden NFL 27."
A photo of Williams on the cover of "Madden NFL 27" leaked online this past Saturday. It wasn't until Wednesday, however, that EA Sports addressed all the rumors. While the cover photo doesn't match the initial leak, the iconic video game publisher made it clear that Williams will join their long list of cover athletes.

Does Williams deserve to be next in line for EA Sports? Judging by the reactions online, fans are against this decision.
"This the worst cover they've ever dropped," one fan declared.
"EA got sick of cursing superstars," a second fan commented.
"I mean yeah people are going to be upset because this might be one of the worst cover athletes in a few years," another fan wrote.
"He’s gonna have the Madden Curse," an NFL fan said.
Caleb Williams is on the rise.
In his second year with the Bears, the former No. 1 pick smashed the franchise's single-season record for passing yards (3,942) while throwing 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
The Bears came up short in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, but Williams' heroic effort against the Los Angeles Rams was truly a marvel to watch.
We'll see if Williams avoids the "Madden Curse" and ends the championship drought in the Windy City.
