More and more wives and girlfriends of NFL players are being attacked online after their significant others have disappointing games.
Last Thursday, Dallas Cowboys fans attacked the wife of star tight end Jake Ferguson online, after he had a disappointing performance in a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ferguson had multiple drops, including one late that led to a game-ending interception, in the Week 5 defeat.
Ferguson, who is married to former women’s college basketball player Haley Cavinder, had to see his wife getting roasted online for his performance.
Angry NFL fans flocked to her social media comments, leaving disparaging remarks.
“Better divorce now when he still has money cause this was his last game,” one fan wrote.
“Maybe give him some extra hand wipes to wash all the butter off his fingers…good grief,” another fan wrote.
“Tell him to CATCH THE BALL,” one fan added.

Haley Cavinder
Unfortunately, Haley was not the only wife or girlfriend of an NFL player to catch serious heat on social media this weekend.
Madison Beer, the fiancee of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, faced major backlash on social media, as her significant other’s team dropped to 0-5 on the season.
Newsweek wrote: “Justin Herbert’s fiancee, Madison Beer, is drawing backlash from frustrated Chargers fans amid the team’s 0-5 start to the season.”
NFL fans flocked to her social media comments, too.
“What did you do to him???” one fan wrote.
“It’s a curse,” one fan added.
“THE FBI NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE MADISON BEER FOR DRAINING HERBERT’S FOOTBALL POWERS LIKE IT IS SPACE JAM,” one fan added.
NFL fan behavior toward player girlfriends, wives has become embarrassing
It’s truly “embarrassing” to see grown men leaving comments like this on the social media accounts of women who are dating or married to their favorite players.
Just because someone has a social media account, it does not give you the right to leave nasty, disparaging remarks on their feed.
These are human beings after all. Their boyfriends or husbands are out there, doing their best. If you are going to be critical, at least just be critical of the player or the coach. Bringing their families into it is out of bounds and honestly, disturbing and embarrassing behavior.
Hopefully, everyone will take a second to really think about what they are typing before leaving a nasty comment on someone’s social media feed, just because of what their significant other did during a game.
