The Arizona Cardinals rank last in big plays and have lost two straight, and nine of the 10 national experts surveyed here are still picking them to win at the New York Giants on Sunday. ESPN’s Seth Walder has it as a 29-6 rout.
Most of the reasoning has to do with the Giants. New York lost Jaxson Dart to a season-ending knee injury, is without edge rusher Brian Burns and traded for J.J. McCarthy to back up Jameis Winston. Arizona is favored by 2.5 points behind quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

Staff picks: Cardinals 3, Giants 0
FPI: Cardinals, 54.2 percent
Walder’s score is the outlier in ESPN’s Week 4 guide. Pamela Maldonado (20-17) and Eric Moody (20-13) expect a lower-scoring game, and the Football Power Index makes Arizona only a 54.2 percent favorite. Walder also predicted McCarthy “will enter late in a blowout loss,” and Maldonado wrote that New York’s “league-worst pressure rate will give Brissett time” to find tight end Trey McBride.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported that New York is most concerned with stopping rookie Jeremiyah Love, a running back the Giants had ranked as a top-three player in the 2026 draft.

Editors’ picks: Cardinals 5, Giants 0
All five editors took Arizona in NFL.com’s Week 4 picks, by margins from two points to seven. Jeremy Bergman wrote that he has “more faith in the steady Brissett and Mike LaFleur’s overachieving Cards team” than in a Giants roster he described as “depleted of star power.” He also pointed out that New York has never beaten the Cardinals at MetLife Stadium.
CBS Sports
Pete Prisco’s pick: Cardinals 24, Giants 21
Pete Prisco gave Arizona credit for its showing in a loss at San Francisco. “Against a lesser opponent than San Francisco, I think Arizona will find a way to win it,” he wrote in his Week 4 picks. Five of the other six CBS panelists took the Cardinals against the spread.
Pro Football Talk
Mike Florio’s pick: Giants 23, Cardinals 17
Mike Florio is the lone dissenter. He wrote in PFT’s Week 4 picks that the Giants “have a chance to get another win while they further adjust to life without Jaxson Dart,” and added that Winston “needs to start worrying about staving off J.J. McCarthy.”
Fox Sports
Will Hill’s pick: Under 44.5
Will Hill stayed away from a side and bet the under. The Fox Sports betting analyst said the Giants’ offense “has looked suspect” since Dart went down and wrote, “I think we get a 23-20 type of game.”
Athlon Sports’ staff went the other way. Luke Easterling took Arizona, but Cory Bonini, Craig Ellenport and Doug Farrar picked the Giants against the spread. The game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
