The NFL might make a serious change to its Week 8 schedule.
According to Rob Tornoe of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the NFL is considering moving the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders out of the “Sunday Night Football” slot. It’s not an understatement to say both NFC East teams have been disappointing to watch.
“The Eagles, who have lost three straight, find themselves with a losing record for the first time under head coach Nick Sirianni,” Tornoe wrote. “It also doesn’t help that the Birds have had an unwatchable second-half offense where the star has been punter Braden Mann. The Commanders are even worse, with just one win after an inexplicable collapse in overtime Sunday against the New York Giants (3-1-1).”
It’s hard to put the Eagles on primetime when they’re 2-3 and playing lifeless football on offense. The Commanders, on the other hand, are difficult to trust due to their coaching miscues and Jayden Daniels’ lack of durability.

Who could replace the Eagles and Commanders on Sunday night?
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk mentioned the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars as an option for “Sunday Night Football.” That could be a pivotal game as far as the AFC South standings are concerned.
The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions could make a compelling case for “Sunday Night Football” as well, but they may be tied down to FOX’s 1 p.m. window.
If the Eagles and Commanders both lose their Week 6 matchups, the odds of a schedule change happening will increase. We’re just not sure who’ll snatch this nationally-televised opportunity.
