The San Francisco 49ers are set to face the Minnesota Vikings outside the United States for an international NFL game in Mexico City. This marks a major return to the Mexican market as the two franchises attempt to notch a win overseas.
The two teams are scheduled to meet at Estadio Banorte on Nov. 22 as part of the league’s expanded venture into various international markets this season. The 49ers have previously played there twice, including a trip to Mexico in 2022.
Meanwhile, this will be the first time the Vikings will play in Mexico, turning the spotlight toward a region with one of the biggest fan bases outside the United States. San Francisco is designated as the home team for the game.

The pregame festivities and entertainment have also been set for the upcoming NFL game in Mexico. Mexican singer Majo Aguilar and American artist and songwriter MXKA have been tasked to perform the Mexican and USA national anthems, respectively, before kickoff.
The NFL made the announcement on social media on Wednesday.
Aguilar, recognized for blending mariachi with a contemporary approach, has earned major accolades, including Latin Grammy nominations. MXKA, on the other hand, is known for her modern R&B music infused with a touch of Mexican influence, according to the NFL.
Both singers will help set the stage for the 49ers-Vikings game in Mexico City. With these singers on board, along with a halftime show, the upcoming Week 11 matchup between the two teams is expected to be a fun and memorable event for local fans.
