Aaron Glenn fell to 0-7 in division play as head coach of the New York Jets this week with his team’s 26-19 loss to the New England Patriots. On top of his team taking another loss, his wallet has taken a loss as well.
According to NFL insider Albert Breer via Ari Meirov, Glenn received a $250,000 fine for conduct towards officials in Week 6. Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni received identical fines.
Per the report, all three fines are “on hold” and may be rescinded later in the year if they have good behavior the rest of the season.
Tough Times for Aaron Glenn
The New York Jets hired Glenn in 2025 after the superb job he did as defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions for several years prior. Glenn is a team legend for the Jets, having played cornerback for the team at a Pro Bowl level for nearly a decade and later serving as a scout before going into coaching.
But since being hired as the coach of his former team, Glenn has gone just 5-18. His 18 losses since the start of last season are the most by any active head coach in that span. Most of the other coaches who lost as many games as Glenn did last year lost their jobs, but the Jets gave him another shot by allowing him to retool his coaching staff.

After starting the season with a spirit-raising win over the hapless Tennessee Titans, the Jets lost three straight games before narrowly beating the Cleveland Browns to reach 2-3 in Week 5. But now that they’ve fallen back to earth with a 2-4 record, Glenn is basically in do-or-die mode.
If the Jets lose to the Dolphins and fall to 2-5 on the season, there’s a very real possibility that the team will start making plans to replace him.
At that point, he’ll have far more important things to worry about than a $250,000 crack in the wallet.
