Should the Texans bring back C.J. Stroud's top college target? An NFL analyst urges Houston to trade for Marvin Harrison Jr. right now.

The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has suddenly become a frequent subject of trade speculation. Despite entering the NFL as the No. 4 overall pick in 2024 with expectations of becoming Arizona’s No. 1 receiver, he has recorded only four targets through two games in 2026, with one catch for 33 yards. The Cardinals has continued to feature players such as Trey McBride and Michael Wilson, raising questions about where Harrison fits in head coach Mike LaFleur’s offense.

The Texans have an obvious need at wide receiver right now. Nico Collins is out with a hamstring injury, while Jayden Higgins is lost for the season with a torn ACL. Tank Dell is still working his way back, leaving Houston without the depth it expected to have around C.J. Stroud. That makes Harrison an intriguing target. He would not simply add another receiver; he would give Houston a former elite prospect who could immediately command defensive attention. Houston has already been identified publicly as a potential landing spot amid the growing Harrison discussion.

Stroud and Harrison already know how to work together from their time at Ohio State. Harrison developed into one of college football’s premier receivers while Stroud was his quarterback. That familiarity matters.

A fresh offensive environment could give the Cardinals’ wideout a chance to reset his NFL trajectory. For Stroud, the reunion would add another high-end weapon to an offense that has struggled to create consistent production without Collins.

Texans Need Marvin Harrison Jr. With Their Passing Game Running Thin

Houston needs more reliable playmakers around Stroud. Through two games, Stroud has thrown for 627 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions, but Houston has scored only 37 points and went scoreless in the red zone against Cincinnati.

A Harrison reunion could change Houston’s playoff outlook, but assessing a futures bet involves more than the roster. The sportsbook’s licensing and withdrawal terms also matter, areas covered in Beat The Fish’s review of BetOnline.

The team enters Week 3 at 0-2, with Indianapolis next on the schedule. Collins is officially unavailable, while Ed Ingram and several other Texans are also dealing with injuries. The Colts’ defense has struggled badly through two games, giving Houston an immediate opportunity to get the offense moving.

But the bigger issue is what happens after Week 3. If Houston wants Stroud to have enough weapons for the long season, Harrison represents the kind of high-upside bet the Texans could consider while their receiver room remains depleted.
