AI content continues to be a polarizing tool when used by the media, and its opponents will quickly call people out for using it. Now it appears that NFL Media has been potentially caught using it to fill new content on an abandoned show.
Fans started noticing that some new episodes of the Move the Sticks podcast with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks that were published on Tuesday sounded a little funny. The show had gone dark since June 4 before suddenly returning.
The voices on the podcast did not seem to sound like Jeremiah or Brooks despite the two still being listed as the hosts.
One user on X reached out to Jeremiah directly, and Jeremiah confirmed that he is no longer on that show and is currently working on a new one.
"No idea. I no longer appear on that old feed. I’m launching a new pod in a new home in the very near future," Jeremiah wrote.
AI or Not?
Front Office Sports quoted an NFL spokesperson who stated that the episode posted on Tuesday was not AI generated or AI hosted. But the spokesperson also stated that the show is being rebranded and revamped.
“NFL Media is in the process of re-branding Move the Sticks and revamping its content plan following the acquisition of NFL Network by ESPN. The episode posted on 8/11 was a compilation of team previews from the NFL’s YouTube page and not AI generated/hosted.”

Some fans pointed out that the voice used in the clips is also pretty much a dead ringer for the NFL's preview vocalist on television. A few suggested that the league simply had that unnamed person record some content and then used it as podcast clips.
Whether it's AI content or not, NFL fans are clearly on the hunt for any of that type of content and are more than prepared to take anyone to task that uses it.
