Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty are riding a three-game winning streak, jumping to 19-13 on the 2026 WNBA season after Wednesday's 92-68 win over Dominique Malonga and the Seattle Storm. Now, the Liberty will look to keep the streak alive on Sunday when A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces come to town.
New York got off to an up-and-down start under first-year head coach Chris DeMarco, beginning the season with a 13-12 record. However, thanks to the duo of Ionescu and Breanna Stewart, the Liberty have won six of their last seven games, sitting in prime position to secure a playoff spot. But following the 2026 season, New York will be without one of its guards going forward.

Rebecca Allen joined the WNBA in 2015 after spending time playing professionally overseas. The Australian guard began her career with the Liberty, spending seven seasons with the team up until 2022. After brief stints with the Connecticut Sun, Phoenix Mercury and Chicago Sky, Allen rejoined New York for her 11th season in 2026.
Allen has earned a significant role for the Liberty this year, starting in seven of her 17 appearances. In 16.5 minutes per game, she is averaging 3.9 points on 32.8% shooting and 1.8 rebounds.
And it seems the 2026 WNBA season will be the last of Allen's career. In a recent edition of Under the Spotlight, when asked if this was her final year in the WNBA, Allen confirmed that she is ready for retirement.
"Uh, yeah," Allen said. "I just feel like this is my moment of closing a beautiful chapter, and I'd like to close everything at once when I am done. So that's me sorta making that decision and having that peace with it as well. So for me it's nice to know and feel peace with it, the decision I've made."
The Liberty will face the Aces on Sunday at 12:30 p.m ET before hitting the road to take on the Indiana Fever on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
