Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty are coming off a tough 106-92 loss to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Wednesday. Clark played a game-high 35 minutes, dishing a game-high 10 assists to go along with 22 points scored. Guard Kelsey Mitchell poured in a game-high 28 points on a perfect 4-for-4 on 3-pointers, extending her streak of 20-plus-point games to 17 games.
Star forward Breanna Stewart and guard Ionescu tied for team highs in points with 19 and assists with five. New York center Jonquel Jones secured a game-high 10 rebounds. In the matchup, Ionescu also contributed five assists and four rebounds in the game. Although the 5-foot-11 guard is known for her 3-point stroke, the Liberty reacted to a historical accomplishment on the boards by the California native.

On the social media website X, the Liberty celebrated Ionescu moving into fourth all-time among franchise leaders in rebounds. Ionescu secured her 1,078th rebound of her Liberty career against Indiana, passing former New York forward Tari Phillips' 1,077.
Two teammates are ahead of the former No. 1 overall pick from the 2020 WNBA Draft for the franchise, with forward Stewart at No. 3 with 1,173 and center Jones at No. 2 with 1,238. WNBA legend Tina Charles holds the No. 1 spot for the franchise, securing 1,723 rebounds.
On the season, Ionescu is averaging 15.8 points per game, 4.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. The sharpshooter is averaging 2.1 3-pointers made per game on a 33.6% percentage. New York is now the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 20-14 record, with its next game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday.
