The New York Jets, already thin on the defensive line, have now lost another player.
Rotational defensive end Braiden McGregor will miss the remainder of the 2026 season because of a torn pectoral muscle, according to reports.
McGregor left Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears with the chest injury and did not return. He was part of a defensive line being shredded by Bears running back Kyle Monangai, who rolled up 146 yards on the day. The Bears team stats show 232 yards rushing overall, with 89 offensive plays.
McGregor joins Jets defensive end Kingsley Enagbare, who is out with a knee injury; edge Will McDonald IV, who has been hobbled by an ankle injury; and David Onyemata, who is recovering with a core muscle surgery. Defensive end Joseph Ossai is playing, but is limited as he recovers from a foot injury.
The Jets signed the 6-6, 267-pound McGregor as an undrafted free agent in April 2024 out of Michigan. In four games this season, he has seven tackles (two solo, five assisted). He has also contributed on special teams.
