When the offseason began, it appeared as if the New York Giants and head coach John Harbaugh were going to make serious personnel changes to the roster for the upcoming 2026 NFL season. Well, the Giants made a big splash on Monday in free agency.
According to Jordan Schultz, an NFL insider, he reported on his Twitter page, "BREAKING: The #Giants are signing former #Ravens TE Isaiah Likely to a 3-year, $40M contract with upside to $47.5M, per multiple sources. Deal done by @ErikBurkhardt of @RocNationSports. The deal makes Likely the 3rd-highest paid TE in the NFL, and pairs him with Jaxson Dart and Malik Nabers as a dangerous offense in NYC." This is not a surprise that Isaiah Likely wanted to reunite with Harbaugh.
Last season with the Baltimore Ravens, he caught 27 passes for 307 yards receiving and one touchdown, along with averaging 11.4 yards per reception. Likely also was targeted 37 times.
What Isaiah Likely Signing Means for the New York Giants

With the signing of Likely for the Giants, it is a good thing for them. He can become the number one tight end in the offense over Theo Johnson. Likely is a good pass catching tight end which will help quarterback Jaxson Dart. He could be the number two receiving option in the offense other than wide receiver Malik Nabers.
New York made a good signing here with Likely. He is only 25 years old and maybe he can have a breakout year next season with the Giants. The Ravens may have made a mistake by not keeping him around and Mark Andrews may not be with Baltimore much longer anyways.
Likely got a lot of money in this free agency deal. This was a good deal for both parties and the Giants offense will need to still find another wide receiver and more offensive line help.
