New Report Reveals Rockets' Only Untouchable Player Amid Trade Rumors Involving 2 Stars

The Houston Rockets are coming off another disappointing end to a season as they were unable to make it out of the first round of the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Of course, the Rockets had high expectations entering last season after they acquired Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns last offseason to add a much-needed star to their roster.

Unfortunately for Houston, the team was unable to live up to expectations as they finished fifth in the Western Conference with a 52-30 record before being eliminated in six games by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the playoffs.

Because of this, major changes could be on the horizon for the Rockets this offseason and a report released Monday revealed that they are open to moving all but one player on their roster this summer.

Rockets Reportedly Listening to Offers for Kevin Durant, Alperen Sengun; View Amen Thompson as Untouchable

According to Yahoo Sports’ Kelly Iko, the Rockets are listening to trade offers for Durant and Alperen Sengun while Amen Thompson is their only untouchable asset.

This is a massive report by Iko as it appears as though Houston may be open to completely reshape their roster this offseason, which include include them trading away two of their stars.

Of course, Sengun has been in trade rumors over the past few seasons and if Houston receives the right offer, the franchise may elect to move him this offseason.

The Rockets may also be willing to move on from Durant this summer as well and with multiple teams around the NBA potentially looking to add another star to their roster, he may gain interest in the trade market.

With this report, it sounds as though the Rockets may be willing to move others from their roster as well this offseason as they may elect to reshape their roster.

While Iko did report that Houston is open to moving everyone on their roster, he also mentioned that the Rockets are unwilling to listen to offers for Thompson.

Of course, Houston selected Thompson fourth overall in the 2023 draft and the 23-year-old forward is coming off the best season of his career thus far.

Last season, Thompson averaged 18.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 53.4% from the field and 21.6% from three.

Because of this, it appears as though the Rockets are preparing to build around Thompson for the future as they try to return to being championship contenders in the future.
