WNBA star Caitlin Clark cringed in embarrassment when her Indiana Fever teammate Makayla Timpson called her the “GOAT” or “Greatest of All Time” during a recent postgame press conference. Unfortunately for Clark, it looks like Timpson has no plan to stop the “GOAT” talk any time soon.
In fact, Timpson even gave Clark a new nickname amid the superstar guard’s stint with Team USA at the FIBA World Cup in Berlin, Germany.
“global [goat],” Timpson wrote in the comment section of Clark’s latest Instagram post.
Timpson’s new nickname for Clark came in the wake of the Fever superstar’s sensational performance for Team USA in its first group-stage game at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

Against China, Clark exploded for 14 points and 11 assists, all while recording the highest efficiency rating among Team USA players in the game. She set a new record in the process, as she became the first player in Women’s World Cup history to have at least 10 assists without a single turnover in a single game.
Clark also broke Alyssa Thomas’ Team USA record for the most assists in a FIBA World Cup debut. FIBA then named Clark the Player of the Game.
On Saturday, Clark shared a post showing photos of herself in a Team USA jersey taken during media day. She also shared some shots from the China game.
“Grateful,” Clark wrote, while tagging USA Basketball.
As mentioned, Timpson didn’t miss the opportunity to heap praise on the Fever star and give her a fitting nickname as she takes her elite scoring and playmaking to the international stage.
