Things got a little heated towards the end of the game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Hofstra Pride.
Hofstra came into the NCAA Tournament as the No. 13 seed, touting a 24-11 record after finishing 12-6 in conference play. The Pride beat the Monmouth Hawks in the Coastal Athletic Association Tournament to guarantee an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament. Hofstra's tournament dreams came to an end on Friday, losing to the Crimson Tide 90-70.
Alabama arrived to March Madness with a 24-9 record, including a strong 12-3 in SEC play. With 2:13 remaining in the game, Philon Jr. of the Crimson Tide was shooting a free throw, which ricocheted off the rim. As Hofstra senior guard Biggie Patterson and Alabama Junior forward Taylor Bol Bowen fight for the ball, junior forward Victory Onuetu of the Pride comes out of nowhere and blasts into Bowen, knocking him to the floor.
Onuetu was assessed a dead-ball contact technical foul, which counted as his fifth foul of the game and caused him to foul out, removing him from the remainder of the contest.
Onuetu ended up playing 18 minutes and contributing four points before being removed from the game.
