Lindsey Vonn's 2026 Winter Olympics comeback didn't end well.
The iconic United States skier suffered a torn ACL leading into the Winter Games. Vonn decided to push through the injury, competing without her ligament. But things did not go well for Vonn in Italy on Sunday morning.
Vonn suffered a terrifying crash during the downhill on Sunday morning. She had to be airlifted off of the mountain after receiving medical treatment.
The iconic U.S. skier lost control of her skis early in her run. She spun around in the air before crashing into the icy mountain. Vonn could be heard screaming in pain as NBC's announcers watched in horror.
"The race was immediately put on hold as Vonn was surrounded by doctors, strapped to a gurney and flown off the course. Vonn's teammate Breezy Johnson held the early lead, but competition became secondary as attention turned to the fallen star. Family members were visible in the stands, including her father, Alan Kildow, who watched while his daughter was being treated," TMZ Sports reported.

"In the NFL when a player is hurt, they say it’s up to the coaches to protect their players. Lindsey Vonn’s (coaches team) should have never allowed her to race. Praying she is ok," one fan added.
