NBA Has Issued Official 'Warning' To Victor Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama didn't just have rough Game 5 performance against the Oklahoma City Thunder, he received a warning from the NBA.

The San Antonio Spurs were hoping to take a 3-2 series lead in the Western Conference Finals this Tuesday night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, however, had other plans. The reigning MVP of the league had 32 points and nine assists. Wembanyama, meanwhile, had 20 points on 4-of-15 shooting from the field.

Fans couldn't hear from Wembanyama after Game 5 because he declined to speak to the media.

Clearly, the NBA didn't appreciate that Wembanyama dodged reporters Tuesday night. ESPN's Shams Charania said the league issued a warning to Wembanyama for violating media access rules.

Spurs facing a do-or-die situation.

The Spurs will need to win Game 6 this Thursday to keep their championship hopes alive.

It'll be interesting to see how the officials handle Game 6, especially since Spurs star Stephon Castle called them out.

“Trying to play through it is tough. I just think the way they guard, how physical they are, we don’t get that same luxury to be able to play as physical on the other end at times,” Castle told reporters, via Bleacher Report. “Offensively, I think we do a good job of screening and playing through it. I think we create a lot of advantages, but I think we missed a lot of open shots tonight.”
