The New York Knicks made the 2026 NBA Finals memorable by ending their 53-year championship drought. They outplayed the heavily favored San Antonio Spurs in five games to capture the third title in franchise history.
Given the historical significance of the victory, sports memorabilia related to the Knicks’ championship run will generate much interest from collectors. Along with game-worn jerseys and basketballs used during the Finals, a new item is sure to attract collectors’ interest.
Michelob, the NBA’s official beer sponsor, made bottle openers out of the hardwood used by the Knicks during the Finals. Knicks legends Earl Monroe and John Wallace delivered these custom bottle openers to select bartenders in New York City.
Aside from the logos of Michelob and the Knicks’ championship, the bottle opener also reads, “This is a piece of history from a game-used section of the NBA Finals court. Crafted for those that helped fuel the celebration of New York’s finest summer.”
In addition to the custom bottle openers, Anheuser-Busch also launched a limited-edition commemorative Michelob Ultra packaging featuring the Knicks logo and the Larry O’Brien trophy.
How fans can score the collector’s item bottle openers
Knicks fans and sports memorabilia enthusiasts can enter for a chance to win via Michelob Ultra’s Superior Access platform.
On October 19, ahead of the NBA Tip-Off, fans can comment “#ULTRACourtside #Sweepstakes” on Michelob ULTRA’s dedicated Instagram post for a chance to win one of the 2,026 custom limited-edition bottle openers.
But given the rarity and significance of this item, some may soon be for sale online. After all, it commemorates a victory that hasn’t happened since 1973.
