Bronny James didn’t switch NBA teams like his father, but he may have changed his relationship status this offseason.
Rumors about James dating Parker Whitfield first emerged at the 2024 Paris Olympics. It didn’t take long for fans to realize he was spending time with the daughter of Hollywood producer Salli Richardson-Whitfield and three-time Emmy nominee Dondre T. Whitfield.
Although neither side has said anything yet, it’s being reporteed that James and Whitfield broke up.
“Bronny and Whitfield no longer follow each other on Instagram,” Page Six reported. “Perhaps fans will have to wait and see whether Bronny or Parker says something publicly about their relationship status before confirming this. But given their private nature, it’s unlikely that either will speak publicly about parting ways if they did indeed do so.
Will Bronny follow his father to Philadelphia?
According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, there are currently no plans for Bronny to join his father in Philadelphia.
“The Lakers are more than happy to keep Bronny James. They drafted him in the second round two years ago. They developed him. They’re a fan of him. He has a lot of people who like him within the building,” Lakers writer Khobi Price said, via Silver Screen and Roll. “It’s not going to be one of those situations where they’re just going to send Bronny to wherever LeBron goes. It would take something real for the Lakers to want to trade him.”
It’s worth noting the Lakers have already fully guaranteed Bronny’s $2.3 million salary for next season.
