LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers closed out the first half of the NBA season on a high note. This is after they blew out Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night, 124-104.

James, now in his 23rd season, led the charge for L.A. in its final game before the All-Star break. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer went off for 28 points on 10-of-20 shooting, 10 rebounds, 12 assists, a block and two three-pointers in 35 minutes of action.

Thanks in large part to James’ strong play, the Luka Doncic-less Lakers scored their first win in three games. L.A. improved to 33-21 and is heading into the break as the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.

James logged his 123rd regular-season triple-double on Thursday. What made this one extra special is the fact that the four-time NBA champion rewrote the history books yet again with another feat.

James is now the oldest player to amass a triple-double in league history. The NBA took to social media to announce the Lakers star’s latest milestone.

“LEBRON JAMES MAKES HISTORY! … He is the only player in NBA history to record a triple-double at age 41!” the league posted on X.

James spoke to reporters after Thursday’s win. When asked about his latest feat, the 22-time All-Star made a bold statement about his current state.

“I've been good ever since I started playing,” James said. “... Any given night if I wanna turn it on, I can turn it on."

And he did just that on Thursday night.
