Although this winter has been quite brutal for most parts of the United States, things are about to signifcantly warm up.

On Tuesday, the National Weather Service announced that several U.S. states will be hit with record-warm temperatures from Thursday to Saturday. It's the first real sign that spring is just around the corner.

"With the change-up to a more spring-like pattern also comes significant warmups between severe weather threats," the National Weather Service said. "In fact, record-warm temperatures are anticipated in a broad area in the U.S. from the Plains to the East Coast over the next week."

This record-heat warning will be in effect for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia this Thursday.

By Saturday, this warm weather will make its way to New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The current forecast shows Alabama, Georgia and the rest of the South getting temperatures in the 70s this Thursday.

New York and Pennsylvania, on the other hand, will be looking at highs of 60 degrees. Considering the East Coast was leveled with two feet of snow just a week ago, Americans will welcome these temperatures with open arms.
