Bowman Gray has been the center of the entire motorsports world over the past week. NASCAR's Cook Out Clash preseason race has been postponed multiple times, most recently to Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET.
Justin Swilling, NASCAR senior director of marketing services, gave some optimistic updates on Tuesday with less than 24 hours until engines start.
The weather report has not been so kind to the event. Per weather.gov, Winston-Salem will be in the low 20s on Tuesday night with a 20% chance of precipitation. On Wednesday, the high temperature will rise to 38 degrees with moderate wind and a 60% chance of rain.
Wednesday night that remains, but with rain potentially turning to snow. If precipitation lands, it could result in up to a half-inch of fresh powder.
"Based on the initial forecast, it's very light to mild conditions," Swilling said Tuesday.
The competition team is staying very closely peeled to the weather reports, but NASCAR appears confident in getting the event on.
To further handle the impending weather, Goodyear has sent over wet-weather tires to Bowman Gray. Swilling added, "This is an event and venue within our wet weather policy."
There will be no time changes on Wednesday, as Swilling said, "If we’ve overcome the last two weekends, our team is ready to take anything on.”

Driver Reactions to North Carolina's Winter Weather
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. showed up at Bowman Gray to help with snow shoveling on Monday afternoon. On scene, he gave time to the press, emphasizing how important it is for the fans in the area to get the race on. This event means a lot to the locals, and it would be unfortunate to cancel it. If the weather did go awry, it would be increasingly likely that the event could come to odds of cancellation.
In the face of snow, drivers made sure to have plenty of fun. Chris Buescher took out some equipment and began swinging in snow circles. Fans may not be thrilled to see that, but Buescher appeared to have some fun.
Joey Logano also enjoyed the weather, but at the cost of some agronomy added on the spring to-do list.
