The finish to the 2026 Daytona 500 was a controversial one.
After half of the field was wiped out by a massive crash with less than 100 laps to go, we had another big wreck toward the finish. Ultimately, Tyler Reddick of 23XI Racing ended up taking home the checkered flag, albeit in controversial fashion.
Reddick, 30, finished in first place, ahead of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Joey Logano, who finished in second and third place. Meanwhile, Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five.
The big wreck, though, had fans taking to social media, to complain about the controversial finish.

"490 miles that were a colossal waste of time… just run 5 lap bumper car shootout. 500 ain’t what it used to be…," one fan wrote.
"Horrible finish," one fan added.
"I'm surprised they kept it green. The entire field crashed," one fan added.
"I am so sick of this type of racing in this car. Just a wreck fest. No skill," one fan added.
"Most anticlimactic finish ever," one fan added.
"Embarrassing, so many unnecessary wrecks, congrats to Reddick, he avoided the chaos," one fan added.
