The RFK Racing quartet could not avoid the late wreck. Instead, Joey Logano takes the win in Duel No. 1 with a wild finish among the Open drivers, too. Team Penske took P1, P2 with Logano and Ryan Blaney.
One spin from Casey Mears while trying to get on pit road caused a caution to come out. He spun out Noah Gragson, too. No harm, no foul, really. Then, soon after the race resumed, a big wreck. Finally, a last-lap crash finished this race.
Logano is the Duel 1 winner. Casey Mears has miraculously raced his way into the Daytona 500 because of the wreck on the last lap. He had to take the lucky dog to get it done, but he did it.

Joey Logano and his new bald look are undefeated in points races this year. How about that? I'm not sure what you can take away from this race. One thing is clear: the Fords are really good at this kind of racing. Team Penske and RFK Racing are both really good at pack racing and taking control of lines to push.
Chase Elliott went on to win the second Duel race at Daytona. Joining Casey Mears as the final Open driver to make the Daytona 500 is Anthony Alfredo. The chaos of the first Duel was not found in the second as they went caution-free and finished under green.
