Former WNBA star Rebecca Lobo couldn't help but get emotional after the backlash that head coach Stephanie White received.
To recall, White has been at the center of online vitriol after she appeared to defend Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington, who committed a hard foul against Sophie Cunningham during Saturday's game.
Carrington, who played under White with the Connecticut Sun from 2023 to 2024, hit Cunningham in the head early in the first quarter and was ejected after her foul was upgraded to a Flagrant 2. While many argued that it was a dirty play, White told reporters in her postgame press conference that she didn't think it was intentional.
Several personalities called for White's firing, with many citing that she's more concerned about other players than her own. The discourse led to the Fever head coach addressing the issue head-on, as she slammed the "narratives that simply don’t exist."

"Trying to create a fabrication or distortion of who I am or what I’m about. Our players’ success, our players’ health and wellness, our player safety is always a top priority for me. One of the things I pride myself on is my relationships with players," White said before their game against the New York Liberty on Tuesday.
After White's strong message, Lobo couldn't help but feel for her and the Fever players, as well as the rest of the WNBA.
The one-time WNBA All-Star reacted to White's situation during the broadcast of the Fever-Liberty game, stating that "enough is enough."
"I've been around this league since the beginning as a former player, as a mother, as a human being," Lobo stated. "My heart breaks for the players and coaches in this league right now. And the online hate they have to deal with every day. At some point, enough is enough."
Unfortunately, despite White's message, the criticism hasn't stopped.
Caitlin Clark and the rest of the Fever continue to support White, though. The All-Star guard herself called out those who booed the Indiana head coach during Tuesday's game.
Fever president Kelly Krauskopf also issued a statement saying that White "has the full support of leadership."
