Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White didn’t hold back in her praise for Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell following their win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday.
The backcourt duo combined for 67 points to lead the Fever to a 113-90 blowout of the Sky. Clark led the way for Indiana, as she recorded 37 points on 8-of-12 shooting from deep, along with three rebounds and 10 assists.
Mitchell, for her part, dropped 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting. She added two rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.
In her locker room speech, White particularly pointed out Clark and Mitchell’s performance in the fourth quarter, when the Fever outscored the Sky 30-13. The duo combined for 17 of their points in the quarter, outscoring the whole Chicago squad.

“C and Kelz, my god,” White said in amazement. “Goodness gracious. That was just some incredible shot-making, some incredible playmaking. Like, sometimes, we’re just over there, standing on the sidelines, like, ‘Holy [expletive]. Really, really good stuff.”
Clark and Mitchell certainly deserve the recognition. After all, both players made history in the game.
With her performance, Clark extended her record for the most 30-point, 10-assist games in WNBA history with five. As for Mitchell, she has now scored at least 20 points in 23 straight games, which also extended a record-setting streak.
Most importantly, with their help, the Fever improved to 25-14 on the season, keeping them in contention for a top-four spot in the WNBA standings. Indiana is only one and a half games behind the No. 2 Golden State Valkyries and one game behind the No. 3 Las Vegas Aces.
