The murder trial for former NFL scout Blaise Taylor is continuing on Monday morning, June 29.
Taylor, a former scout for the Tennessee Titans, is accused of poisoning and killing his pregnant girlfriend, Jade Benning. Taylor is accused of lacing Benning’s pink lemonade with cocaine dissolved in alcohol. Both Benning and her unborn child were killed as a result of the poisoning.
The prosecution rested its case over the weekend, while the defense's case began on Monday. Over the weekend, one of Taylor's ex-girlfriends testified.

Apple Dennie, who dated Taylor, claims that he got her pregnant and she ultimately had an abortion. She also alleged that Taylor wanted another woman to terminate her pregnancy after he got her pregnant.
“He was Googling things,” Apple Dennie testified, according to News Channel 9. “He was looking stuff up to figure out how she . . . if there was something you could do to make her have an abortion. And asked me if I could get the abortion pills, and he could make her take them or put it in her drink.”
Former Titans scout testified in court, too
Mical Johnson, a former colleague of Taylor, testified in court, too. Johnson was employed by the Titans from 2020 to 2025.
"Johnson testified that she never heard of Benning and didn't know if Taylor had a steady relationship – though he wasn't someone that often talked about his personal life. She also said that she was unaware that Taylor was expecting a baby, adding some of his comments about his readiness to becoming a father," USA TODAY reported.
"She noted that Taylor would say things like 'not ready yet' or 'not anytime soon' in casual conversations about becoming a father."
The murder trial continues on Monday.
