The New York Giants’ 2026 season suffered a devastating blow Monday night, as Jaxson Dart went down with a serious knee injury.
Dart was hit by Los Angeles Rams linebackers Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart as he was attempting a throw from the pocket. Although he limped off the field and reportedly wanted to go back in, the Giants ruled him out with a knee injury. Initially, reporters said he’d miss a few weeks with an MCL sprain.
“The fact that it’s not that outcome that you’re talking about, the devastating outcome, is really good news,” Giants coach John Harbaugh said. “We’ll know more tomorrow.”
Unfortunately, the latest update on Dart is downright devastating. It’s being reported that his knee injury is worse than initially feared, which means he could miss the remainder of the season.
“Further testing today revealed Giants QB Jaxson Dart’s knee injury is worse than initially thought, and the team and Dart now are facing the possibility of season-ending knee surgery,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said. “Further testing today revealed Giants QB Jaxson Dart’s knee injury is worse than initially thought, and the team and Dart now are facing the possibility of season-ending knee surgery.”

Devastating blow to the Giants.
Dart was outstanding for the Giants as a rookie, compiling 2,272 passing yards, 487 rushing yards and 24 total touchdowns.
In Week 1 of the 2026 season, Dart completed 23 of 29 pass attempts for 230 yards with three touchdowns and no turnovers.
If Dart is out for the season, the Giants will have to rely on Jameis Winston at quarterback. In the meantime though, we’re hoping Dart makes a full and speedy recovery.
