There are golf fundraisers, and then there are fundraisers that feel like they truly belong in this game.
The 4th Member For a Day Auction benefiting the Breakthrough Golf Alliance, officially the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development, Inc., falls into that second category. Yes, it offers golfers the chance to bid on unforgettable experiences. Yes, there are rounds and stay-and-play opportunities that would make just about any avid player stop scrolling and take a closer look. But the bigger story is what those bids can do for young people whose talent and dreams deserve support.

A Mission Bigger Than the Scorecard
The Breakthrough Golf Alliance did not appear overnight. The organization began in 2010 as the Little Linksters Association for Junior Golf Development, operating as a youth sports nonprofit under the AAU umbrella. In early 2025, it became an independent 501(c)(3), refining its mission to focus more directly on helping talented young golfers ages 13 and up overcome the financial barriers that can keep them from competing, traveling, and showcasing their ability.
That mission matters because anyone who has spent real time around junior golf knows the truth: ability is only part of the equation. Tournament fees add up. Travel costs pile on. Coaching, equipment, practice opportunities, and exposure all require resources. Too often, a young player’s ceiling is determined not by talent or work ethic, but by what their family can afford. The Breakthrough Golf Alliance exists to push back against that reality.

The Young Golfers Behind the Cause
What gives this auction real heart is knowing exactly who stands to benefit.
The Alliance’s 2026 scholarship winners include Luz Melendez-Gonzalez of Riverview, Florida, who won her high school district tournament in 2025 and has her sights set on the Florida high school state championship and college golf in the South. Keishlyan Vega of Puerto Rico is a two-time Puerto Rico High School Golf League champion and a two-time Puerto Rico Junior Tour Player of the Year who dreams of one day winning Puerto Rico’s first Olympic medal in golf. Ava Saavedra competes on major junior circuits and is building her own voice in the game through golf media. Brevin Bennett, just 14, has already compiled a remarkable junior résumé in New York. The Winter Park boys golf team is also among this year’s supported recipients.
Those names matter. Their stories matter. They remind us that this is not abstract charity. This is direct investment in young people with real goals, real work ethic, and real promise.

Bucket-List Golf With Real Purpose
The auction itself is full of experiences that should grab the attention of golfers who love the game and love the idea of playing somewhere special.
As of March 31, the Breakthrough Golf Alliance auction page listed active experiences including French Lick Resort, Cabot Citrus Farms, Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Streamsong Golf Resort, Latrobe Country Club, Sawgrass Country Club, and Champions Golf Club. At that time, several of those listings showed roughly five days remaining, which means the deadline is close enough that this is not something to put off until next week.
That is the beauty of this format. A bidder is not just making a donation and moving on. A bidder is chasing a golf memory that could last a lifetime while also helping a young golfer take one more meaningful step forward.

Why Member For a Day Works
Part of what makes this fundraiser especially compelling is the platform behind it.
Member For a Day says it has raised more than $10 million for charity since 2020, worked with more than 200 nonprofit partners, and sold more than 4,000 rounds of golf. Its stated mission is simple and powerful: use golf experiences to create positive change. The platform explains that nonprofits partner with Member For a Day to run auctions, promote donated golf experiences to its community of golfers, and receive the net proceeds after the highest bidders win and rounds are scheduled.
For bidders, the process is also straightforward. According to the FAQ, you are only charged if you are the winning bidder at the close of the auction. Travel and related expenses are not included unless otherwise noted, the winning bidder pays roughly a 5.5 percent processing fee, and experiences generally expire one year from the date of purchase unless stated otherwise. That kind of clarity helps people bid with confidence.
A Call to Golf’s Inner Circle
~DONATE A FOURSOME NOW~
There is another audience this auction should speak to, and that is members of private clubs who are in a position to help.
If you belong to a club with a great course, a memorable atmosphere, or the kind of access golfers dream about, consider donating a threesome or foursome for future fundraising. Member For a Day is built specifically to help nonprofits auction golf experiences to a broad audience of interested golfers, and its results show that donated rounds can become meaningful dollars for a worthy cause.
For club members, that donation can be one of the most personal and impactful ways to give back. You are not simply writing a check. You are turning access into opportunity. You are helping a young golfer afford travel, tournament entries, development, or visibility. In a game where opportunity can change everything, that kind of gesture can carry real weight.
Bid Now, Help a Young Player Break Through
~BID NOW~
This is the kind of fundraiser golf should rally around.
The rounds are exciting. The destinations are special. The experiences are legitimate. But what matters most is what happens after the final bid comes in. A young golfer gets help. A family gets support. A dream gets a little more breathing room. And that is something worth showing up for.
So here is the simple ask: bid if you can. Share the auction if you know golfers who would love these experiences. And if you are a member at a club that could help, consider donating a threesome or foursome so this effort can keep growing. The deadline is closing in, and with only a short window left on the current listings, now is the time to act.
Golf has always been at its best when it opens doors. This auction does exactly that.
