The 2025-26 men's college basketball season ended on Monday night, with No. 1 seed Michigan taking down No. 2 seed UConn. It's the Wolverines' first national championship since 1989.

The offseason is now here - and it's going to be a busy one.

The NCAA's transfer portal officially opened up at midnight. A lot of men's college basketball players have already entered the NCAA's transfer portal.

In total: more than 1,000 men's college basketball players have announced their declaration to transfer.

Some of the biggest names to enter the NCAA's transfer portal include Wisconsin star guard John Blackwell, Villanova star Acaden Lewis and Kansas State standout PJ Haggerty, among other players.

How the NCAA transfer portal works

Players must give official notice to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

"Once you initiate the process, your current scholarship should remain intact for the current term, but future scholarships are not guaranteed. If you decide to stay after initiating the transfer, your scholarship could be at risk, as your current school may rescind future scholarship offers or allocate them to other student-athletes," the NCSA describes.

"To access the NCAA Transfer Portal, you will need to provide written notice to your college’s designated administrator. Without written notice, NCAA coaches are not allowed to contact you.

"You can choose whether to allow coaches to contact you or not. If you have a specific program in mind, you might prefer to reach out to coaches directly. Alternatively, if you are exploring options, allowing coaches to contact you can help you discover opportunities."

It's set to be an active transfer season.
