Details about the events that led to the arrest of Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker James Pearce Jr. are still trickling in and it may take time before we get the clear picture. But the details we have right now are already pretty disturbing.

Earlier today, Pearce was arrested on multiple criminal charges relating to domestic violence.

According to Andy Slater of Fox Sports South Florida, Pearce allegedly drove his Lamborghini into his ex-girlfriend's car "multiple times" and on-purpose. He then tried to stop her from getting to a police station. These actions led to a police chase culminating in Pearce's arrest.

"SLATER SCOOP: James Pearce Jr. is accused of intentionally crashing his Lamborghini into his ex-girlfriend’s car multiple times, trying to stop her from getting to a police station, law-enforcement sources tell me. That alleged incident led to cops chasing the NFL star," Slater wrote.

Horrified and Mortified

NFL fans were chilled to the core hearing this news about Pearce. Many were already furious that he had reportedly committed the violence against beloved WNBA star Rickea Jackson - his reported girlfriend of about a year now.

"The idea of crashing your Lambo into an ex's car multiple times would never cross my mind. Absolute insanity on display here," one user remarked on X.

"He was gonna kill that girl if she didn’t get to the police," another concluded.

"He tried to kill her. This isn’t just a DV case this is attempted murder," a third declared.

The Falcons have already said that they're aware of the situation and will not comment further on it until the legal situation plays out.

But things are looking pretty bleak for Pearce's situation right now. Even if the Falcons don't outright cut him in response to the backlash of these alleged crimes, the NFL will likely be waiting in the wings to drop the hammer on him. A suspension of at least six games is very much on the table right now.
