It has been an interesting offseason thus far for the Charlotte Hornets as they have made major changes to their roster after being one of the NBA’s surprise teams last season, finishing with their best record since the 2015-16 season.
Despite their success last season, the Hornets made two major roster moves to begin the offseason as they traded LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miles Bridges to the Phoenix Suns.

Charlotte has also made some key additions to their roster, acquiring Naz Reid, Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neale, Dennis Schroder and Dorian Finney-Smith in trades and selecting Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson Jr. in the draft.
Despite these moves, the Hornets could also look for other ways to bolster their roster around Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller, with the center position being one area they could look to upgrade ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Mock Trade Sends Hornets’ Tidjane Salaun to Bucks for Myles Turner

One player they could target is Milwaukee Bucks big man Myles Turner, who could be on the move as Milwaukee continues to rebuild after trading Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat earlier this summer.
In a potential trade, the Hornets could send a package of Grant Williams, Tidjane Salaun and a 2027 first-round pick to the Bucks in exchange for Turner.

By making this move, the Hornets would add a new starting center alongside Knueppel and Miller, while also giving them the option to start Reid at power forward or bring him off the bench in the same sixth-man role he had in Minnesota.
For Turner, he would provide Charlotte with a reliable stretch big who is a solid scorer and rebounder while also giving them one of the NBA’s top rim protectors.
Last season, the 30-year-old big man had a major drop-off in production as he averaged 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 44.0% from the field and 38.3% from three.

Despite this, a move to the Hornets could make Turner one of the focal points of their offense and help him to return to the form he showed during his time with the Indiana Pacers.
While this move could work out well for the Hornets, they may also elect to roll into the season with their current frontcourt, though Turner may be available for them or any other team looking for frontcourt depth, especially with the Bucks adding Kel’el Ware to their roster as they continue their rebuild.
