Christian Pulisic made an immediate impact at the World Cup, setting up a goal in the USMNT’s opening-match victory over Paraguay. While he was substituted at halftime and missed the following game, the AC Milan forward has since silenced critics who questioned his form heading into the tournament.

Prior to the World Cup, the 27-year-old had endured one of the longest goal droughts of his career, going 18 league matches without scoring for AC Milan, a span dating back to December which he finally broke against Senegal in a pre-World Cup friendly.

Despite his inconsistency last season, the USMNT star has been garnering interest from MLS clubs, most notably from New York City FC.

AC Milan Makes Decision on NYCFC’s Pulisic Offer

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, NYCFC are willing to offer the American a massive salary of more than $11 million (€10 million) per season to join the team on a five-year contract.

While Pulisic’s current contract with AC Milan expires in June 2027, the club has an option to extend it by a further 12 months if they desire to do so.

The Rossoneri have been in a bit of turmoil after failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for two consecutive seasons, finishing fifth last season under Massimiliano Allegri, who was eventually replaced by Ruben Amorim.

Reports now claim that Milan have rejected NYCFC’s offer for Pulisic, with Gerry Cardinale, the founder and CEO of Milan owners RedBird Capital Partners, stating that he wants to keep the American at the club as they look to rebuild under the former Manchester United manager.

Italian reports also claim that Milan and Pulisic have yet to reach an agreement despite the club’s attempts to have him sign a new contract.
