The MLB The Show 26 developers are back to fine-tune a few areas of the game, but they're also bringing back something iconic that's been missing from the series for years.
San Diego Studio revealed Game Update 16 on August 12, with the patch scheduled to deploy August 13 at 4 a.m. PT across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The headline addition is the return of Field of Dreams, which was last featured in MLB The Show 22 and hasn't appeared in the series since.
The virtual ballpark recreates the Iowa setting made famous by the 1989 'Field of Dreams' film, and its return comes at the perfect time. On August 13, the same day the stadium becomes available in MLB The Show 26, the Minnesota Twins will host the Philadelphia Phillies in the first real-life MLB at Field of Dreams game since 2022.

Here are the the changes arriving with the update:
- Field of Dreams stadium is now available.
- Exhibition Daily Lineups will correctly list pitchers for the current day's games.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when restarting a Diamond Dynasty Mini Season after reaching the playoffs.
Player Likeness Updates
San Diego Studio is also updating the likenesses of 15 players. Some changes will not appear until the August 14 roster update.

Game Update 16 isn't a massive overhaul, but Field of Dreams makes this one stand out. After being featured in MLB The Show 22, including its own Field of Dreams Featured Program, the recognizable cornfield ballpark is finally making its return.
Combined with the Mini Seasons crash fix, corrected Daily Lineups and 15 player likeness updates, it's a smaller patch with one addition longtime MLB The Show players should immediately notice.
