MLB Home Run Predictions Today: HR Prop Bets for Wednesday, April 29

New York Yankees first baseman Ben Rice (22) hits a solo home run

We have Ben Rice staying red-hot against a pitcher getting torched by lefties, Yordan Alvarez in a matchup he’s absolutely owned, and Ildemaro Vargas swinging it well with a power edge from the left side. If you’re hunting homers, these are bats that can leave the yard in a hurry.

It’s Wednesday Wallop Watch, and the ingredients are all here for a long-ball night. The matchups check out, the splits are loud, and the pitchers are vulnerable. If you’re looking to cash a home run ticket, this is the group to target.

Best Home Run Props Today

Yordan Alvarez Home Run Bet (+302)

Alvarez has absolutely crushed Chris Bassitt over the years, going 9-for-22 (.409) with five home runs in the matchup. It’s not getting easier for Bassitt, either. Alvarez is hitting .329 vs. right-handers this season, with six of his 11 HRs coming in those spots. Meanwhile, lefties are teeing off on Bassitt, batting .377 with a 1.100 OPS; every HR he’s allowed came from that side.

Ben Rice Home Run Bet(+350)

A career season is already underway for Rice, who’s hitting .322 with 10 HRs before April wraps. He’s been especially dangerous vs. right-handers, batting .313 with six home runs, an issue for Nathan Eovaldi. Eovaldi is 2-4 with a 5.79 ERA and getting crushed by lefties, who are hitting .329 with eight of the nine home runs he’s allowed. It’s been even worse at home, where his ERA sits at 6.00.

Ildemaro Vargas Home Run Bet (+860)

Early struggles have been an issue for Brandon Sproat, who owns a 6.45 ERA and has been hit hard by lefties. Opponents from that side are batting .316 with a 1.090 OPS and three home runs. That’s a problem against Vargas, who’s off to a scorching start, hitting .379 with six home runs to lead Arizona. Vargas has been productive from both sides, but his power spikes left-handed against righties, showing a .539 ISO and strong wOBA. The matchup clearly tilts in his favor.
