The 2026 Major League Baseball All-Star Game took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday night. It was fairly boring.
The American League topped the National League, 4-0, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The AL pounced on NL starter Christopher Sanchez in the top of the first inning, as the National League - which featured several home players from Philly - failed to do much of anything on offense.
The MLB All-Star Game is typically referred to as the best of all the major sports' all-star games, but it's failed to live up to the hype in recent years. Power pitching is beating power hitting more often than not, leading to a lot of strikeouts, a lack of star power and flat-out boring results.

According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, there is serious concern within the sport about the future of the MLB All-Star Game.
“Fragile,” Olney said on 'Get Up' this morning. “I think this midsummer classic is in a fragile state right now. There’s a lot of concern within the sport because so many players are opting out of the game.”
There's major concern about future of MLB All-Star Game
It's not just about what's happening on the field, too. It's also about who is not playing.
“In this All-Star Game, Jacob Misiorowski, the guy everyone wants to see, he didn’t pitch. Paul Skenes didn’t pitch,” Olney said. “Cam Schlittler, Aaron Judge was not there. Shohei Ohtani was not there. Citizens Bank Park last night, a third of the stands had cleared out by the eighth inning. That is a concern for baseball to address.”
MLB needs to make some changes, that's clear.
