FOX national MLB announcer Joe Davis has long faced accusations of showing too much bias for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers are the team Davis calls a majority of regular season games for. He serves as the lead play-by-play announcer for Los Angeles Dodgers telecasts on Spectrum SportsNet LA. However, Davis also works as a national MLB announcer for FOX.
On Saturday, Davis was on the call of a Dodgers vs. Brewers game. Fans were not happy with his performance, specifically his lack of enthusiasm on a Brewers home run. MLB fans felt that he was showing too much bias for the Dodgers.
"Hey Joe Davis. You’re on NATIONAL TV. ACT LIKE IT!" one Brewers fan shared.
The national FOX MLB announcer is getting called out for apparent bias
Fans agree that Davis should be showing less bias for the Dodgers during these games on national TV.
"Joe Davis does a nice job but this is fair criticism of the call IMO. Sounded like he was calling a Dodgers game on Spectrum," one fan wrote.
"Joe Davis is as bottom tier as it gets for play by play announcers. The Davis/Smoltz booth is AWFUL. MLB needs to step in. Joe Davis just isn’t good and root for the Dodgers (see 2025 WS), Smoltz hates 2026 baseball and cries the entire game. Fox needs to step up the mid #1 booth," one fan added.
"I hate when NATIONAL TV BROADCASTS sound like this," one fan added.
"I think he’s being respectful to Skubal since it’s during an interview. People are gonna find something to complain about when it comes to commentators but I just don’t think this is something," one fan added.
