MLB fans are a bit torn on FOX's coverage of the 2026 All-Star Game.
During the bottom of the first inning, Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Dylan Cease conducted an in-game interview with FOX broadcasters Joe Davis and John Smoltz. Despite dealing with a bit of a distraction, he managed to strike out the side.
While fans are used to in-game interviews on FOX, they were surprised that Davis and Smoltz suggested pitches for Cease. They found it to be incredibly odd, especially when Cease ended up walking Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Freddie Freeman.

"Joe Davis acting like he doesn’t hope Freddie doesn’t strike out," one fan said.
"Why are Joe Davis & John Smoltz trying to suggest pitches to Dylan Cease?" a second fan asked.
"Joe Davis. Don’t give pitching advice," a third fan commented. "If you’re going to mix up the pitcher and catcher let’s just hear their talk."
"STOP TALKING JOE DAVIS," another fan declared.
Who is MLB announcer Joe Davis?
Davis has been the lead play-by-play announcer for FOX's coverage of the MLB since 2022. However, he first joined the network in 2014 as a college football announcer.
In addition to being the main voice for FOX's MLB games, Davis performs play-by-play duty for NFL games alongside three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen.
Suffice to say, Davis will be quite busy from now until late December.
