MLB fans continue to call out Joe Davis’s play-by-play performance during the National League Championship Series.
Davis is the play-by-play man for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the regular season. However, he also serves as the lead play-by-play announcer for FOX’s MLB postseason coverage. He and John Smoltz are on the call of the NLCS.
Brewers fans, and others around the league, have been calling out his performance during the NLCS.
They were particularly annoyed with his call of Milwaukee’s leadoff home run on Wednesday night.
The home run came on the first pitch of the game, which certainly surprised Davis and the viewing audience, but fans weren’t pleased with the call.
Davis got excited once it went over the wall, but some fans think that he would’ve been more enthused if it came off a Dodgers bat, like Shohei Ohtani.
MLB fans call out Davis’s performance
“Joe Davis has yet to make a good call on a brewer home run lol,” one fan wrote on X.
“Joe Davis cannot be doing these games,” one fan added on X.
“C’mon Joe Davis we know you’re a dodgers guy but do better,” one fan added.
“We talk about Joe Davis having bad commentary, what about John Smoltz. Smoltz is terrible,” one fan added.
“It’s impossible for Joe Davis to call a home run against the dodgers,” another fan shared on X.
The Brewers took a massive 3-0 series lead against the Dodgers with their win in Game 3 on Wednesday night. Milwaukee is now one win away from clinching the series and heading to the World Series, where they will be facing either Cleveland or Tampa Bay.
Game 4 of the 2026 NLCS is scheduled for 8 p.m. E.T. on Thursday night.
