Monday’s MLB slate is a bit lighter, but there’s still plenty of value if you dig into the matchups. With early-season trends starting to form, this is a great spot to find edges across the board.
This card features five bets worth targeting. We’re fading a struggling Houston Astros lineup, taking advantage of a New York Yankees team that hasn’t been cashing in runs, and backing a pitcher in strong form. There’s also a power hitter with great history in this matchup, plus an MVP in a prime spot to deliver.

Seattle Mariners -1.5 (+123)
The Astros are spiraling, losing seven straight while posting a league-worst 6.49 ERA. That sets up well for the Mariners, who are pushing for a sweep. Seattle starter George Kirby has dominated Houston, going 3-1 with a 2.15 ERA and 48 strikeouts in nine appearances. With the Astros’ pitching struggling and Seattle holding the clear edge on the mound, this is a strong spot for the Mariners to win by multiple runs.
Los Angeles Angels Moneyline (+149)
The Angels have a clear edge in form, hitting significantly better over the past week, while the New York Yankees are batting just .202 on the season and have lost five straight. New York also went just 3-for-23 with runners in scoring position in its last series. Angels starter Yusei Kikuchi has strong familiarity with this lineup, while the Yankees' Will Warren is winless in two starts vs. Los Angeles. With better offense and momentum, the Angels offer value at plus money.
Guardians Gavin Williams 7+ Strikeouts (+105)
Gavin Williams has been dominant to start the season, allowing just one earned run in April while piling up 18 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings. He’s up to 25 strikeouts in 17.2 innings with a 37.3% strikeout rate and has cleared seven-plus strikeouts in all three starts. With that swing-and-miss stuff, he’s in a strong spot to rack up strikeouts again against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Rangers Jake Burger 2+ Total Bases (+115)
Burger has had success against Luis Severino, going 5-for-16 with two home runs in their matchups. Severino hasn’t pitched deep into games this season, which could create more scoring chances for the Texas Rangers lineup. With Texas hitting well on the road, Burger is in a position to rack up multiple total bases.
Dodgers Shohei Ohtani 2+ Total Bases (-113)
Ohtani is swinging a hot bat, recording hits in seven of his last eight games with four home runs during that stretch. He’s also had success against David Peterson, going 7-for-18 in their matchups. With a .300 average against lefties this season and his power upside, he’s in a strong position to rack up multiple bases again.
